Little Girl Enjoys New Wheelchair While Family Sets Up Shop…

I have mentioned this before and I am sure it will be mentioned again. I have been lucky to be able to travel with an organization called Chair the Hope for the last couple of years. They travel the world delivering wheelchairs to people who struggle to get them. 

This photo was during one of those trips. We had been by this young girls house earlier to deliver her new wheelchair. Her mom and her had to move in with their grandma to get away from an abusive situation. Her mom told a very emotional story. Sometimes it is hard to walk away after a visit.

This beautiful little girl was born without the ability to walk. Her mom and her grandma just carried her around and sat her in chairs or on stools so she could be closer to them. But she didnt have a wheelchair. Giving someone mobility and independence is life changing.

When we were walking back by their house to get back to our bus, we saw the three of them outside setting up their shop for the day. She looked so happy to have a new chair. You never really think about the difficulties of not being able to walk when you are able to. But these trips have given me a perspective much different from before. 

I hope this chair allows her to do things she has always dreamed of.
