Rough Starts Aren’t Always Bad <3

June 5th was supposed to be the day we set sail on our two-week journey. Emotions were high, saying goodbye to my loves for 2 weeks is hard no matter how amazing the trip is.

Back to departure day… The Delta plane I was meant to fly had some issues… I think Delta in general was struggling. It was a Monday. However over 45 minutes in line and I had finally checked my 50lb & 45lb bags of donations in and made my way to security, where my green rubber massage ball caused a ruckus and it was back to waiting once again to have my bad checked. I have patience, but I was getting very close to boarding time so I was feeling the angst boiling up (don’t worry I deal with that a lot, I have tools hahaha).

Anyway, once they gave me my things back I hustled to my gate, the VERY last one in the Boise terminal 9okay yeah yeah, it is a tiny terminal, I know). As I arrived at my gate much to my dismay everyone was in line for the attendant at the desk and no one was in the line for boarding. Come to find out our plane was broken and the flight was delayed until one PM causing me to miss all of my connecting flights. So I went home and snuggled my babes a little bit longer.

This morning I am sitting in the airport again having had nearly the exact opposite experience from yesterday and though I am sad to leave my family, I finally feel like today is the day I get to beautiful Merida!

This first week I am hanging out with my good friends with Chair The Hope delivering wheelchairs and friendship to the people of Merida. Starting the 13th we will be doing our 1st ever-Aubs Free Family Photos event. We have so many people to thank and introduce and we hope you are excited to join the journey.

Let’s try this again…
