A Glimpse From That Day…

I love capturing a moment that makes the viewer feel like they are right there in real time. Poses simply don’t work if you don’t also guide your couple on how they would have gotten into that pose. Or what they would be doing in normal cases in such a pose. Helping the “pose” flow like movement is a big deal and not something every photographer feels comfortable doing.

I spent a lot of my teens awkwardly staring into the bathroom mirror doing different poses and facial expressions, while also acting out in my mind some dramatic storyline. That is until someone would knock and scare the drama right out of me. I come from a big family... But the point here is that I think somehow in doing that, in trying to recreate poses I’d seen in magazines and scenes I’d watched in movies, I learned how the body should move. The camera can make you feel a bit paralyzed at times. I don’t allow you to feel that way about mine. You’ll be all about the posing by the time we are done! ;)

We photographed this wedding at the Hidden Springs Community Barn off Highway 55 in Idaho. This little barn/wedding venue is so cute! We have actually done a couple of weddings out there! It is a popular spot.
